So you’re new to the business; not to mention that you’re small enterprise is operating on a local area. What do you do to advertise your local business? Here are some techniques to successfully market your local business to your target audience:
Do it the local way – post your ads on local bulletin boards and forums. Many local communities have bulletin boards put up in every building or offices in the community. You can always have your brochure printing for example tacked on your church’s bulletin board. Or your brochure printing services advertised in your local grocery store. All you have to do is to provide a pressing issue in your ad that would attract your readers’ interests. Posting solutions to local issues can get your name out there and make you visible in your community.
Use the local directory to list your business. Every community has their own business list and it won’t take you more than 10 minutes to enlist in their directory. Also when online, you can appear in the local online ads section every time a browser goes to your local business district. This can significantly drive traffic to your store and your website if you have one put up.
Sponsor a local team. Sponsor your junior league to give you an opportunity to get your name recognized and remembered. You can provide the uniforms for the little league team and have your business name conveniently printed at the front. And you can always advertise at the sports field and provide visibility that way to your target audience.
Initiate a seminar or presentation. Offer to provide a presentation at a local conference or trade show exhibit. These are very good venues to market your local business to your target clients. And when you’re there, don’t forget to bring as many brochure printing ads to your booth as you can.
There are still many ways to market your local business effectively. The key to making your marketing campaign successful is to integrate yourself to local activities and events that will expose you fully to your local audience. Having a marketing campaign that incorporates your local flavor can go a long way in generating the leads you need to get your business recognized and remembered. So show your local color and provide your target clients with ads that reflect your community awareness and see how you become successful in having an effective ad for your business.

Can you do NROTC through a four year university while in the Marine Corps Reserves?
1.How often are Reserve units deployed? As often as active?
2.As a reservist, am I able to attend a 4 year university so long as I attend drills ect.?
3.How hard is it to change which unit you are with?
The reason I’m asking these questions is because I was basically accepted into Norwich University (located in Vermont) and offered by the school almost enough money to cover the schooling and room and board. The school has every ROTC and at the time I was interested in NROTC and a commission. I’m still interested in it but need to take care of this bug I have for enlisting, haha. What Id like to do is get some classes from the JC under my belt and try to get accepted back into this school and enroll my sophomore or junior year. And that brings me to my next questions.
Would I be able to do NROTC while in the Reserves? And if so, how would that affect my contract? Would they just tack on the additional few years?
Norwich is a very good school and you will be busy. Take advantage of the scholarship and leave the reserves alone. Yes you can be a reservist while you are a rotc cadet. As a reservist you typically drill once a month and you are required to attend a two week annual training which may or may not coincide with your summer break. Norwich is a high speed school and your rotc unit will be very active. Norwich is also a military academy so it might be very difficult to try to balance Marine Corp Reserves with being a cadet. You will have to go through leadership training and much of that may require weekends (drill weekends).
I recommend that you go to Norwich first and if you find that you have enough time then enlist.
By the way, being an ROTC cadet will not give you a deferment for deployment. Once you go to basic and are MOS qualified you will be deployable until you are a junior and become a contracted cadet.
Remember that your Marine Corp enlistment contract is not wiped away until you are a junior. Basically what happens is that when you enter your MSIII year you get a discharge from the Marine Corp and sign a contract with the Navy stating that you will accept a commission into either the Marine Corp or into the Navy. Until that contract is signed the Marine Corp reserve owns you.
